Two week checkup / Kid Free!

This past Thursday was a very busy day!
Josh had his 2 week check up, and Brad took the day off from school to help me take all 3 kids to the appointment.
He is right on schedule, healthy happy, and growing.
We're not sure what he weighed when we left the hospital, no one ever told us, but on Thursday he was back up to 8 lbs and 2 1/2 oz, so only 1/2 oz less than his birth weight.
His cord stump has not fallen off yet, the girls had come off by this time. I can't wait to be able to give him a real bath.
The whole appointment went great, he is a healthy little guy.

After Josh's appointment, we drove down to Orem and hung out with Grandma and Grandpa Walker for a little while. Grandma and Grandpa offered to keep Hannah and Abby at their house for a few days to help out this tired new mama, and to give the girls a fun little break as well.

Brad and I got to go on a date, the first one in a long time! We went to Applebee's for dinner, and when the waitor brought my food, he looked a little confused, went back into the kitchen for a minute, then came back out saying he completely forgot to order Brad's food when he ordered mine, but he just did order it and he'd have it out asap and that it was on the house. Yay, we love free food! It's funny because the last time we can remember going out was our anniversary in August when we went to that same Applebee's and were given our whole order except our drinks for free after they found out it was our anniversary. Looks like we need to go there more often!

We had some time to kill before our movie started, so we went to Circuit city to see if they had any amazing deals since they are going out of business. Nope, nothing we'd want. We killed some time at Shopko too, nothing very exciting there either.

We went to see Seven Pounds at the dollar theater. It was pretty good! It started out really really slow, and it was really confusing, but the last little bit everything made sense, and it turned out good! It's definetly an odd movie, but interesting enough that we want to see it again, especially now that we've seen the end, we want to see the first part and pick up the little things that will make more sense the 2nd time around. We want to buy it once it's on the cheap rack at Walmart.

We went back to Grandma's house to pick up Josh, and to say goodnight to the girls. They were still up, but just going to bed. They realized that we were leaving and they were staying, but they didn't seem upset by that at all. They love Grandma and Grandpa and knew they would get to have a lot of fun.

It was definitely weird to leave them, but not as hard as we expected it to be. It was nice to have a quiet drive back home.

The past few days it's been nice to get some more rest or some more housework done, and to be able to spend a little more time together not worrying about kids (except for Josh, but he's easy). We have talked to the girls a few times each day since Thursday, and they are having a really fun time! We miss them and can't wait to see them again, but it's nice to have this little break too. We will all be glad to see each other again soon. They are coming home On Tuesday. Either Grandma and Grandpa will bring them home and have dinner with us, or we will drive down to pick them up. It all depends on the weather. We hope they are still having fun, and can't wait to have them home with us.
